Gareth R Roberts was born in North Wales in 1969 and brought up in the sleepy seaside town of Llandudno.

At 18 the bright lights of London beckoned and he went to study politics at the LSE. Upon graduation he worked in Parliament as a speech writer and researcher, before training to be a barrister and returning nearer home to work as criminal barrister in Chester.

Throughout his life, music (he was bassist with pre-Brit-pop band The Lovelies) and storytelling have been his passion.

He now lives in Rossett on the Welsh/English border with his wife Ines and two young sons Reuben and Ianto.
